Welcome to the web site of the Zutphen Historic Society.

Our society was established in 1981. The number of members at the moment is approximately 600. Our goals are - to make knowledge of the history of Zutphen more widely known; - to facilitate easy access to that knowledge; - to increase public interest in all aspects of Zutphen's history. In order to achieve our goals, we organize lectures and excursions. In carrying out our activities, we have the assistance of various working groups. Our society welcomes co-operation with similar institutions. Four times a year we release a magazine entitled 'Zutphen'. From time to time books are published both on the town as a whole and on specific districts. We recognize, however, that the Dutch language may present problems to people of other nations and we are always ready to help.
